Earlier on June 24, TWS finally released their second mini album "Summer Beat!" and the music video for its title track "If I'm S, Can You Be My N?"
The comeback is one of the most highly anticipated releases this June, as fans were thrilled to receive the pre-release "Hey! Hey!" on the 5th.
Apart from the title track and pre-release, the album also contains B-side tracks such as "You+Me=7942," "Double Take," "Keep On," and "Fire Confetti."
Eventually, on the same day (June 24), netizens established an online post detailing the group's newest feat on the domestic music charts. According to the post, TWS' "If I'm S, Can You Be My N?" entered MelOn's Top 100 chart at No. 58.
"It didn't chart initially, but it started charting at 12:00. It's freezing out," OP stated. "Once it was released, it immediately settled at 58th place. (The pre-release song didn't chart)."
In the comments, a minority expressed awe of the feat and pointed out that the achievement indicated a solid fanbase for the rookie group.
- "Wow, with this level of momentum, there seems to be a solid core fanbase. Considering it's a boy group, they should aim for an arena to accommodate everyone?"
However, the majority was skeptical of the feat's authenticity, with some pointing out factors such as the comeback's overall buzz, and the absence of the album's songs on the charts. Read their reactions below:
- "I didn't even know that they released a song."
- "Seeing how their side tracks and pre-release all failed to chart, they don't seem like the type of boy group that the general public search up."
- "It's not like their fandom is streaming the song."
- "The fact that only their title track charted 'by accident' probably means that the general public looked up their song like crazy?"
- "HYBE's know-hows are seriously amazing, as expected from a 'big company."
- "Do they not care about all the side-eyeing?"
- "Is it because it was 'a good song' once again?"
- "People say that refreshing songs are the general public's pick but their pre-release was also refreshing so why didn't it chart?"
- "They are being way too obvious now."
Meanwhile, I-netz accused HYBE and PLEDIS Entertainment of doing "sajaegi," an illegal boosting tactic in sales or streams. Others defended the group from the criticism.
- "Not even waiting for promotions to start after debuting that low is actually crazy."
- "Somehow their songs rise but none of the members are ever trending and they have zero fandom power the sajaegi is too obvious."
- "Not even waiting for promotions to start after debuting that low is actually crazy."
- "Until we get official clarification everything will seem suspicious. The members deserve better than this so I do wish this could get sorted out so we can move on."
- "Why do they find it so hard to believe people like TWS's songs?"
- "Do you all get satisfaction in knocking them down or something?"
