Super Junior Heechul Reveals He Lost Friends Over Loans — Here's How Much He Lost

Super Junior's Kim Heechul revealed that he lost friends and a whopping amount of money due to loans.

On July 9, a video featuring Heechul as a guest was released on the YouTube channel "Studio Soojae" in the show "After Eating Breakfast 2."

In the video, MC Jang Sung Kyu visited Kim Heechul's house. While there, he mentioned, "I was amazed not just by Heechul's house, but also by the time we drank three bottles of 1.2 million won (approximately $860 USD) liquor at a gathering."

He then went on to reveal how wealthy "Suk Hoon offered to buy one bottle, but Heechul insisted, 'I'll pay for all of them. I have so much cash that I couldn't spend it all in a lifetime.'"

Kim Heechul responded coolly, "Is this how Seo Jang Hoon and Kang Ho Dong feel? I really do have so much money."

He continued, "Even though I lent a lot of money, I never went into business." Jang Sung Kyu added, "You mentioned lending a lot of money to others, because you just can't say no to people."

Jang Sung Kyu further revealed, "My current KakaoTalk status message is 'If you ask to borrow money, you'll be blocked immediately.' During Chuseok, Lunar New Year, or my birthday, people say 'Happy New Year' or 'Congratulations,' and when they add, 'By the way, Heechul,' I know it's about money."

Kim Heechul added, "When I first debuted, out of good intentions and loyalty, I lent money to friends I used to hang out with, but I never paid back even once."

Jang Sung Kyu asked, "Have you ever calculated the total amount you haven't received back?"

Kim Heechul replied, "If I calculate the total amount I haven't received back, it would be around this much," showing a number five with his hand.

When Jang Sung Kyu asked, "Is it 5 billion won?" Kim Heechul confirmed, "Yes. Only Shindong paid me back."

Kim Heechul debuted in 2005 as an actor with the KBS 2TV youth drama :"Sharp." Later that year, he debuted as a member of Super Junior.

Super Junior has release hit songs like "Sorry Sorry," "BONAMANA," and "Mr. Simple." Kim Heechul is currently active in SBS TV's variety show "My Little Old Boy," JTBC's "'Knowing Bros," and KBS Joy's "Twentieth Century Hit Song."
