SEVENTEEN Mingyu Shocks CARATs With Amount of Money He Gave To His Parents: 'Please Adopt Me'
Mingyu revealed the amount of money he gave to his parents on Parents Day, sparking reactions from the CARAT fandom. Likewise, his fellow SEVENTEEN members were also shocked by the figure and their reactions went viral online.
SEVENTEEN released the 108th episode of their variety series "GOING SEVENTEEN," which was titled "Class President Election #2." During the episode, Mingyu was asked about the philosophical "chicken and egg" paradox to examine his judgment skills.
While initially replying "egg," Mingyu revised his answer to "chicken," and explained that he "understands the greatness of mothers." This was followed by the group asking him what activities he did during Parents Day.
Mingyu: "I gave money to my parents as a gift."
"How much did you give them? How much?" the members asked. "You have to be exact. Please be exact. You can use your hands to tell us."
Mingyu then subtly raised five fingers to indicate β©500 million won (KRW), which was also equivalent to $362,000 dollars (USD).
The amount led to the hilarious reactions of his fellow members, who were both proud and surprised by Mingyu's endearing generosity and filial trait. DK even remarked, "Can I be your mom?"
