aespa Winter Speaks Out Against Sasaeng During Livestream: 'Please Don't Call Me'

Winter addressed a stalker's rude behavior during a live broadcast. The clip went viral on social media and online communities, prompting netizens to urge SM Entertainment to protect the idol. Meanwhile, others encouraged idols to take legal action during incidents with sasaengs.

On July 29, Korean netizens established an online post titled "Winter's Number Got Leaked." In the forum, the author shared that Winter held a livestream on the platform Weverse and that she kept restarting the livestream because a sasaeng (a term for obsessive stalker) kept calling her number.

"Winter did a live right now and the moment she started talking, a sasaeng would repeatedly call her so she kept closing the live," the OP shared. "This happened three times and then she opened her live again."

The author continued, "Since last year, Winter was the only one being targeted by sasaengs and she had three to four calls during her lives and had to tell these people off. It looks serious now."

The forum also included a screenshot of a Weverse notification, which revealed that Winter had named her live broadcast as "Winter's Live Has Started: Don't Call Me."

"Please don't call me. Why are you calling me, why are you calling? Are you curious whether this is indeed my number? It is my number. That's my number! So when I'm playing with MYs, don't call me."

In the comments section, K-netz expressed frustration over Winter's stalkers, whom she has to address frequently during livestreams. They also pointed out some netizens who negatively directed their attention to Winter's scolding.

  • "Nowadays, every time she does a live, they f**king call her all the time. The sasaengs have been bullying Winter so severely lately."
  • "If you watch the live and see how she mentioned the sasaengs, she didn't even have a straight face, she was talking with a smile."
  • "Meanwhile, people are leaving comments like "does she consider sasaengs her fans?" "Why is Winter's personality like that?"
  • "Even if she had a straight face, this isn't her problem, you guys are creeping me out with your hate."
  • "Isn't she f**king likable for telling the sasaengs directly?"

International fans also joined the thread and voiced out their outrage against these sasaengs. The incident also ignited reactions on X (Twitter), where netizens urged SM Entertainment to protect the idol.

  • "It happens for a lot of idols sadly, there should be a legal repercussion for this."
  • "It will happen again and again, because SM doesn't care about cutting off those sasaeng fans. They even feed into their delusions."
  • "Idols should be allowed to get restraining orders against sasaengs."
