While Seo Kang Joon is known for his looks and skills, many K-Netizens are discussing why he is "failing" to establish popularity compared to his fellow third-generation stars.

On Nate Pann, an OP took to the web forum to update on idol actor Seo Kang Joon, who got discharged from the military in May 2023. As his comeback drama, he is preparing for the work, "Undercover High School" set to air in 2025. 

On Instagram, he has been teasing fans with his visual transformation where he boasts his head-turning handsomeness and body after losing weight.

Even when he's just sitting down in a black T-shirt, Seo Kang Joon's notable appearance stand out, not to mention his clean visuals with short hair. When the photos were shared, it became a hot topic among netters, a lot were expressing their regrets about why he's "underrated" when he should receive more support than what he has now. 

Here are some of the comments:

• "Honestly, he's the most handsome."
• "If he could just find one good piece of work, that would be enough. Even though he has the looks, acting skills, and charm, it's not easy to become popular."
• "He's really more handsome than Kim Soo Hyun and Park Bo Gum (of course, both are handsome) and he's also a good actor. I wish he'd just get one hit drama."
• "Among the male actors coming out these days, he seems to be a good-looking guy who can follow in the footsteps of Won Bin and Kang Dong Won, along with Cha Eun Woo, but he doesn't seem to be popular. There aren't any representative works that come to mind."
• "The nickname 'Face Genius', which is often used as an adjective to describe Cha Eun Woo these days, was originally Seo Kang Joon's nickname. But while Cha Eun Woo was popular, Seo Kang Joon was too calm, so it became 'Face Genius=Cha Eun-woo'. But the original face genius is Seo Kang Joon."

In particular, Seo Kang Joon made his entry in the entertainment scene as a member of a K-pop band called, 5urprise (Surprise), launched by Fantagio Entertainment. 

This group is unique in that its members are both actors and idols.  Along with the release of their pre-debut single, "Hey U Come On," the five also starred in the web drama, "After School: Lucky or Not."

In 2014, they earned high recognition domestically with their first single album, "From My Heart" and also established fame in Japan with its album, "5urprise Flight." 

Unfortunately, the members left the agency in 2020, which also led to their indefinite hiatus. Since then, the members pursued their solo activities, wherein Seo Kang Joon focused on her acting career. 

He starred in various works including "Cunning Single Lady," "What Happens to My Family," "Cheese In the Trap," "Are You Human Too" and more. 

In the aforementioned works, he showed impressive acting skills, yet, netizens argued that he has yet to star in a drama or film with a character that perfectly suits him. As a result, fans are hoping that his upcoming drama will finally be his "HIT" drama.

• "I hope you make some hit movies and choose good scripts to write a lot. One thing is missing, one thing is missing!"
