In the face of public scrutiny, numerous artists decided to face and address their mistakes directly. Their resolve to move forward and improve themselves is also a testament to their professionalism, commitment, and love for fans.

Here are several idols who apologized for their foul-ups

1. Stray Kids Felix's 'Shikanoko' Challenge on Korea's Liberation Day

On August 15, Felix went under fire for sending an anime song challenge on Bubble during Korea's Liberation Day. Many criticized the idol for not being aware of the holiday since it commemorates Korea's liberation from Japan in 1945.

On such important occasion, consuming Japanese goods, pop culture, or content is considered by many in Korea as prohibited. Afterwards, Felix owned up to his mistakes with a public apology.

2. Kim Jaejoong's COVID-19 Prank

In April 2020, Jaejoong posted on Instagram saying that he was diagnosed with COVID-19. It turned out that it was just a prank, earning the people's ire.

The idol soon apologized and said that he didn't actually have the virus. He claimed that he was only raising awareness on the importance of safety protocols.

3. NCT Johnny, Mark, Doyoung Joking About Jeju Island Earthquake

In December 2021, NCT held a livestream on YouTube. During the stream, a 4.9 earthquake went off during the broadcast. After a staff informed the group of the earthquake, Mark, Doyoung, and Johnny sang and danced off to their B-side track "Earthquake."

Consequently, the three idols apologized on their personal Instagram accounts.

4. MONSTA X For Spending Time with Former Member Wonho

When the group spent time with former member Wonho in March 2020, Hyungwon released an apology online.

Wonho left the group in October 2019, after the idol faced allegations of cannabis usage. Hyungwon shared:

"I would like to apologize to MONBEBEs. The situation is not good in many ways nowadays, even though we always show our best sides, we still feel sorry for the things we didn't do.

We will try to reflect on the wrong things we did, so please keep an eye on us."

5. IVE Rei Apologizes For 'Hip Hop' Remark During Livestream

On July 29, Rei was criticized by netizens for making stereotypical "hip hop" remarks and mannerisms on a tanned Hello Kitty doll.

The idol, who faced accusations of racial microaggressions, immediately apologized on the Bubble app for her actions.

6. TXT Yeonjun's Apology After Posting Japan Trip Photos on Korea's Liberation Day

Yeonjun apologized to fans after posting his Japan trip photos on Korea's Liberation Day. The images have now been deleted online.
