An old audio clip of NCT Dream Jaemin has been circulating on SNS again, where he allegedly made a "rude" remark to his senior, EXO Baekhyun.

On August 16, a Jaemin clip became a hot topic on Facebook after it once again caught the eye of netizens. The video in question contained his conversation with fellow NCT member Jisung, to which the maknae expressed his love for EXO Baekhyun's then-newly-released album.

At the time, NCT was celebrating their 3rd debut anniversary. Jisung then brought up their senior Baekhyun's first solo album, "City Lights," released in July 2019.

The youngest member raved over Baekhyun's release and shared how he loved the entire album when Jaemin, who was listening, chimed in. He said that he didn't like it that much, and that he was yet to listen to the whole album yet.

In the snippet, he said:

"I have listened to it, but it didn't sound that great."

When the members were asked about their favorite song from the album, Jaemin replied:

"I am yet to listen to the whole thing."

When this spread among EXO-Ls (EXO fans), the NCT member faced backlash for being "disrespectful" to his senior. They chided him for saying it during the livestream, which was viewed by thousands.

Before Baekhyun left SM Entertainment to establish his own label, INB100, he and Jaemin had a senior-junior relationship. Thus, Eris believe it is improper to say it about the EXO member who supports junior idols.

Meanwhile, NCTzens (Jaemin fans) defended the member, saying that he was entitled to his own opinion and that it shouldn't be a big deal since what he said shouldn't reflect other listeners' thoughts on the album. 

Korean fans also explained that Jaemin didn't say it with a tone as harsh as the translation and that the snippet was edited to make it seem like he hated Baekhyun's album. 

Listening further to the audio clip, Jaemin also clarified there that he only listens to his favorite songs of Baekhyun in his playlist and that he had actually been listening to the senior idol's tracks more often lately.

This explains why he had yet to listen to the whole album, as he had been playing his favorite Baekhyun songs. NCTzens argued that what Jaemin said was not meant to criticize the EXO vocalist. 

• "Jaemin didn't criticize his senior. Jaemin's opinion is that because he hasn't heard all of (the songs) yet, he didn't like it so much (yet) as he was asked before."
• "People should really stop. This has been brought up every year."
• "This case is a long time ago."
