5th-Gen K-pop Female Idol Announces Departure From Group + Official Statement

Despite debuting earlier in April, a fifth-gen female idol has left her group. Her agency has also shared details regarding the departure, as well as the activities of the K-pop act.

On August 29, EgoENT released an official statement on the fan platform Weverse, stating that VVUP leader Hyunny has decided to part ways with the group.

Read the full statement below:

"Hello. This is EgoENT.

We would like to thank everyone for giving their unwavering support to VVUP, as they were able to complete their 'Ain't Nobody' promotions successfully. We want to express our sincere gratitude to our fans once again.

Moving forward, we would like to apologize for delivering unfortunate news to our fans. Ever since their pre-debut in March, the group has been working non-stop, and group leader Hyunny would no longer be able to work with VVUP as a member due to health reasons.

Throughout her career, Hyunny has been trying to regain her health. We had a careful discussion with Hyunny regarding the continuation of her activities, but after much deliberation, Hyunny decided to focus on her recovery.

Once again, we apologize to the fans who may have been surprised by the sudden news. Hyunny's activities as a VVUP have come to an end, but we would appreciate your continued support for Hyunny in her journey to regain her health.

Additionally, the agency and the three members of VVUP also send our unstinting support and encouragement to Hyunny. VVUP will continue its activities as a three-membered group in its future schedules, and specific activities will be announced at a later time.

Furthermore, VVUP will do its best to show even more activities and their improved sides. We ask for your continued love and support.

Thank you."

VVUP debuted as a four-membered group, with Hyunny, Kim, Paan, and Suyeon. The former quartet released their debut digital single "Locked On" on April 1. On July 3, VVUP released their second digital single "Ain't Nobody."
