Hyejeong broke AOA fans' hope for a comeback as she confirmed that the group is virtually gone.
On Oct. 2nd, idol-turned-actress Hyejeong appeared on the YouTube channel, "No Back Tak Jae Hoon," where she opened up about the K-pop girl group, AOA.
As a brief background, AOA was one of the most popular third-gen girl groups until ex-member Mina accused Jimin of bullying her.
Originally, the team had eight members, but after the issue, they left FNC and the group one by one, leaving only the current trio: Hyejeong, Seolhyun, and Dohwa, who were named as bystanders.
After the news broke in 2020, the group was considered on an indefinite hiatus, but when asked about their disbandment, Hyejeong replied:
"No, we didn't disband. It's not clear yet. But in my heart, we're already disbanded."
She clarified:
"Rather than disbanding, we're just supporting each other's lives. It's true, at least in my heart."

As they delve deeper into the topic, MC Tak mentioned that former member Choa claimed she's the most pitiful in the group during her separate appearance on the channel.
However, Hyejeong refuted this and replied:
"I don't think so. My sister left first and is living well after achieving her dream. I think she left because she wanted to do something, so I've never thought she was pitiful. She and I chose different paths, and I think she's going the right way."
Regarding who to blame for all the mess the group underwent, Hyejeong said:
"Who would be the culprit? We are not in contact with each other. We only know what each other's up to by looking at them through Instagram."
While Hyejeong still has the desire for AOA to reconcile and reunite one day, chances are futile after she reveals:
"I want to see it too. But I don't know because I don't keep in touch with the members. We don't even have a group chat. Also, we haven't reconciled yet."
