After an initial investigation, the police freed Choi Minhwan from his prostitution solicitation and sexual assault charges. Will he still have custody of his three kids?
On November 29, the Gangnam Police Station gave an update about F.T. Island Choi Minhwan's charges of violating South Korea's Anti-Prostitution Act under Article 21 and forced molestation.
According to the authorities, they decided to not send the celebrity to the prosecution due to lack of evidence and gave him a not guilty verdict.
Previously, the National Petition forwarded the case to the police after netizens filed a complaint about his frequent visits to adult shops during her marriage to former Laboum Yulhee. Her ex-wife also revealed audio recordings where Minhwan was reserving girls at the establishment through broker A.
With the verdict, there are concerns about their three kids' custody remaining to Minhwan, but Yulhee's lawyer attested that it wouldn't affect their request for a change in parental rights and custody adjustment.
Attorney Yang So Young told OSEN on the 29th:
"The incident in question is not a decisive factor (for the mediation application). The focus is that it was not initially discussed for the purpose of punishment, but to clear up the misunderstandings they had and to seek future rights. It was not an accusation filed by Yulhee's side."

He claimed that Yulhee actually had a strong chance of winning the case, and she would most likely be able to take back her three kids sooner or later.
As a brief background, it was initially reported that the former couple mutually agreed to give Minhwan custody to avoid giving the three kids stress due to a new environment. At the time, she received sour reactions and was labeled "bad mom."
However, Yulhee would later reveal that she originally wanted to take them with her but due to the financial and mental stress the family would face once she filed a lawsuit against the idol, she kindly gave up her custody and property shares.
But as the table turned upside down and as she gained more support from the public, Yulhee finally decided to fight back.
