Amidst a national mourning period, singer Lim Young-woong has announced his decision to hold his Seoul concert to honor the victims of the Jeju Air tragedy.

Lim Young-woong's agency, Fish Music, shared the singer's verdict on December 31 through their fan cafe.

"We express our deepest condolences to the victims and their families who recently died in the unfortunate accident. We also sincerely sympathize with the pain of all those who are grieving," and mourned the victims of the passenger plane crash," the statement said.

"We have decided to hold the scheduled Lim Young-woong concert after much deliberation in order to keep our precious promise to the fans who have waited for a long time, as well as all the staff and people involved in preparing the concert," the label continued.

"We will deeply engrave your condolences and do our best to prepare this concert with a heavy heart so that it can be a moment of sincere comfort and hope. We sincerely hope that we can all come together and overcome this difficult time together."

The label offered a full refund for those who wished to abstain from the concert.

"If you do not wish to attend this concert, you can contact the customer center by the day before the concert and receive a full refund without a cancellation fee," they said.

Lim Young-woong performed at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome from December 27 to 29 and is scheduled to perform three sold-out dates from January 2 to 4.

On December 29, a Jeju Air plane took off from Bangkok Airport in Thailand and attempted to land at Muan International Airport, crashing into the outer wall of the runway while attempting to land, killing 179 of the 181 passengers on board.

The accident has also halted all entertainment schedules nationwide, including award ceremonies, production presentations, concerts, and events.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok designated a nationwide period of mourning from December 29th to January 4.
