EXO-Ls Outraged As Lay Gets Labeled As 'Former EXO Member': 'Do Your Research'

On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), EXO's fans EXO-Ls were enraged by a community thread's caption regarding Lay.

On Jan. 11, pannchoa uploaded an X post for a forum discussing Lay's speculated attendance at SM Entertainment's upcoming 30th anniversary. Despite its intention to excite fans with Lay's participation at the event, the page caught severe backlash for referring to him as a former member of EXO.

The caption stated, "EXO's former member Lay reveals he will be at SM's 30 years anniversary concert."

This was followed by fans' scathing comments against the post. Many called out the misinformation at hand, while also correcting the page that Lay had only left SM and not his group. Others also brought up Lay's consistent efforts to maintain ties with the group.

"Lay is still a member of EXO. Do your research." one fan said.

"He's not a former member," another argued. "He just left the company but he's still in the group."

A third one commented, "He still very much says he's a member like every day,"

A fourth one remarked, "Glad that Lay will be attending SM's 30th anniversary celebration. By the way, Lay is still a member of EXO, not former."

Lay left SM on April 8, 2022, which was also the date of EXO's 10th anniversary. "This decade is one of the greatest gifts I could've ever received," he captioned on the post featuring a handwritten letter.
