Joy has renewed her exclusive contract with SM Entertainment, and is looking forward to the new chapter of her career with the label that has been her home since 2014.
On January 14, SPOTV NEWS reported SM's statement confirming the idol-actress' contract renewal.
"Joy has renewed her contract with SM due to the trust she has developed over the years with the company," SM announced. "Joy will proceed with her activities with SM's full support."
The agency also mentioned Joy's bandmates, Seulgi and Irene, who both renewed their contracts with SM in February 2024.
"We are happy to continue our beautiful journey with Seulgi and Irene, alongside Joy," the label stated. "In addition to Joy's group activities in Red Velvet, we would also like to provide our support in her solo endeavors and her acting career as Park Sooyoung."

Joy also confirmed the news, saying, "I went through a thorough discussion with people who have been with me for ten years, built through mutual trust and conviction."
The "Hello" singer also hinted at her career goals.
"I wanted to move forward in a good direction in the future," she said. "I will do my best to show various sides of myself to fans through my positive synergy with SM."
Red Velvet debuted in August 2014 with the iconic track "Happiness." The girl group has since established its status as a leading act in K-pop's third-generation era through hits, such as "Red Flavor," "Ice Cream Cake," "Bad Boy," "Cosmic," and "Psycho."
