Following their exit from Pledis Entertainment, fromis_9 teased a fresh start under a new nest — only to face an unexpected hiccup. In a surprising twist, the entire team's transfer to one agency fell through after three out of eight members decided to seek new opportunities elsewhere.
On January 17, it was reported that fromis_9 decided to sign an exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment (BPM), home to SHINee's Taemin and VIVIZ. However, only five out of eight members have decided to transfer to BPM, while three others are now exploring other entertainment labels.
"This makes it virtually impossible for fromis_9 to continue promoting as a full group," stated the Korean outlet, Star Today.

When the report circulated online, BPM swiftly countered with an official statement on the same day.
"We would like to inform you that the article reported this morning that five members of the group fromis_9 are transferring to our company is groundless," BPM told Newsen.
As BPM dismissed the rumors, all eyes are now on the future of fromis_9 and its members.
fromis_9 debuted under Off the Record, a CJ ENM production company. By 2021, they transferred to Pledis, a HYBE Labels affiliate.
Initially a nine-member ensemble, the lineup shifted when Jang Gyuri left in 2022 to focus on her acting career.
