SNSD Criticized In Male-Dominant Forum For Being Unmarried And Childless: 'They Will Regret It'

SNSD Criticized in Male-Dominant Forum for Not Getting Married or Having Kids: 'They Will Regret It' Instagram

A fiery debate ignited among fans and male netizens over Girls' Generation's choice to prioritize their careers over starting families in their mid-30s.

Since their 2007 debut, the legendary girl group (Taeyeon, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Tiffany, Sooyoung, YoonA, and Seohyun) has captivated hearts as South Korea's "Nation's Girl Group" and their chart-topping hits like "The Boys," "Gee," and "Into the New World."

Now, two decades later the girls continue to shine as they expand their solo careers across various fields, such as music, acting, and entertainment.

Despite their impressive achievements, netizens from a male-dominant online community are scrutinizing the members' choice to remain childless and unmarried. Among their second-gen peers, SNSD stands out as one of the few still without families of their own.

"As they are 89-liners, they are currently 36 and it's almost too late to get pregnant. They are barely invited to shows and have schedules now, so it would be better for them to have kids and start the second chapter of their lives.

They earn a lot of money so it's likely that they prefer traveling and eating good food. Sure, it's okay, for now. But wouldn't they regret it once they get passed age 40? They will still have money by then and could tie the knot with white-collar men and live as a DINK (Double income, no kid) couple. But it will be hard to have kids."

While many men voiced their support for the original poster's criticism of the girl group, SONEs—Girls' Generation's passionate fans—found the post through a screenshot on the female-dominated forum theqoo, where they launched their counterattack.

"They said that women are a hundred times happier if they don't get married," wrote one fan.

"It's not that they can't get married. They just don't," added another.

"Everyone is busy living their lives, lol. But I will tell you not to worry about celebrities, but to worry about your own lives," a SONE said.

Meanwhile, among the Girls' Generation members, only Sooyoung is publicly dating. She and actor Jung Kyung Ho have been together since 2012.
