Cube World Download: Server Still In Downtime Due To DDoS Attack; Co-Op Play Makes The Voxel-Based Game More Exciting

Cube World download is technically available already since last week, but the developer is having issues with the servers because of DDoS attack, thus, the shop and user registration is currently close for now. So for the fans, please bear with it as the team is currently fixing the issues already. You'll definitely get your copy of the alpha version of Cube World soon.

The official site for the Cube World download has a blog post from the game developer, Wollay Funck, and it reads,

"Our server is getting attacked by denial-of-service (DoS) attacks on a regular basis. The attacks usually occur in the evening and at night (European time). Because of that we have to disable user registrations and the shop from time to time, and you will get the message about 'Server Maintenance'. We will try to find a solution as soon as possible."

Cube World's amazing developer, Funck, also told Kotaku about the DdoS attack they discovered. He explained, "Initially we assumed the fault was on our side, like our download/updating system could be broken, so we closed the sale and improved our system. But it turned out that all these problems were the result of DdoS attacks."

He then further shared that apparently, someone is trying to sabotage their business by attacking servers for the Cube World download shop, with a statement, "It seems that someone is trying to systematically damage us and our business. The attacks usually occur during evening/night as soon as we open our store or user registrations. The attackers obviously want to prevent us from selling our game."

Meanwhile, Co-Optimus shared their thoughts about Cube World game and they noted that the co-op play makes the Voxel-based game a lot more 'enticing.' With Cube World's multiplayer and co-op adventure mode, the gamers can join with their friends and form their own team to explore and embark on adventure and challenges in the procedurally generated world.  Multiplayer gaming is optional in Cube World and the game can also be played offline.

The post from John Bardinalli reads, "The feeling of roaming the countryside and having the freedom to do what you like is very strong in Cube World. That, and the closely related feeling that you want to club those stupid rock monsters to death while they sleep. Hate those guys."

For the ardent gamers who was not able to get the Cube World download during its rocky first days of release, let's cross our fingers that the servers get up and running again very soon.
