Caught on camera July 2, a UFO sighting has received mixed to negative reactions after the video was posted to YouTube by UFO enthusiast Drew Ryan, adding to a number of Australian sightings as of late.

"I have seen many unexplained things in the Central Coast skies, but most recently...I observed and photographed a large luminous ball-shaped object over Empire Bay," says the photographer.

"The ball changed color several times until it went orange, and then it moved slowly across the sky to hover over [the coastal town of] Woy Woy for some time."

In the video, the object can be observed as Ryan zooms in with his camera, but the shaky and grainy footage of the UFO has failed to impress YouTube viewers.

"I think people's frustrations over the seemingly uslesness of this video comes from the history of grainy, shaky videos and images of blobs and lights, and never, ever anything substantial. People are simply tired and weary of images and claims that actually show nothing and that require belief in something rather than merely observing with the senses," writes YouTuber MrCoffeeandWine.

But Ryan affirms by his reports and evidence, and hopes that the increasing interest in UFO sightings will motivate officials to investigate further.

"There is no doubt in my mind there are things flying in the skies which cannot be explained," says Ryan according to Daily Telegraph.

"And sightings are definitely growing in frequency. I would like to see a real investigation of these phenomena take place."
