Glee Season 5 Cast Gains Adam Lambert But Loses Cory Monteith In Tragedy, How Will The Show Cope?

"Glee" may be on hiatus, but season 5 is being struck with not only cast additions, but tragic loses in the form of Adam Lambert and Cory Monteith.

As reported earlier, "American Idol" alum Adam Lambert will be joining season 5 of "Glee" as departures of series regulars take place, including Heather Morris (Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck), Harry Shum, Jr. (Mike), Dianna Agron (Quinn), and Amber Riley (Mercedes).

"I want to sing with Adam Lambert so badly! I think he is so incredibly talented," said Lea Michele, who plays Rachel on the show.

"He's a vocal freak. It's like working out: If you want to work out well, then you want to train with the best ... that's how I feel about Adam Lambert. That's my metaphor."

Sadly, Adam Lambert's addition to the cast in season 5 will also coincide with the tragic death of Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on "Glee."

Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room Saturday at the age of 31. According to CNN, the autopsy is set to take place today with results to be fast-tracked to be concluded within the next few days.

Lambert has since taken to Twitter to express his condolences, and it is unknown how Monteith's passing will affect "Glee" for season 5 or Lambert's upcoming role.

So far, Lea Michele, who dated Monteith in real life, has yet to speak on the tragedy.
