Robin Thicke ‘Take It Easy On Me’: New ‘Blurred Lines’ Album Single Meets Club Beat, Featuring Timbaland

Robin Thicke's new single, ‘Take It Easy On Me”, follows the same message as the singer’s big summer hit ‘Blurred Lines’ but takes a more direct approach, notes the US Daily Voice.

Timbaland’s production work combined with Thicke’s aggressive R&B voice delivers the message clearly with a club-ready sound. Thicke sings: “I’ll rip through all your fancy clothes/I want to shop for your underwear/I wanna do it all so close” and “When I look right through your dress, I want your cherry pie.”

Timbaland signs with Thicke: “Do it, do it/Hypnotize me/Do it, do it take it easy on me” to make sure the message is clear.

Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke have been feuding lately and the comparisons between Thicke’s new songs and Timberlake’s “Tunnel Vision” and “SexyBack” are obvious.

The release of the “Blurred Lines” album has gained heightened anticipation as the single bearing its name is on track to becoming the hit song of summer 2013.

“Blurred Lines” have hit become the fastest selling single on record in the U.K. and has been no. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the fifth consecutive week. It’s also on the top charts of iTunes and has hit no. 1 for Billboard Canada’s Hot 100.

The explicit “Blurred Lines” video directed by Diane Martel has also been instrumental in garnering attention for the album. The video featuring Robin Thicke with Pharrel Williams and T.I. was a social media sensation and was actually banned from YouTube.

There have been numerous criticism on the lyrics of the song, labeling it as “rapey” and misogynistic. In an interview with a U.K. radio station, the “Blurred Lines” singer said that the accusations on “Blurred Lines” doesn’t even deserved a response.

The “Blurred Lines” album with the “Take It Easy on Me” single will be released in the United States on July 30.
