Zimmerman Trial Verdict Celebrity Reactions: Stevie Wonder Boycotts Florida & Other States w/ Stand Your Ground Laws [Watch]

After George Zimmerman was given a not guilty verdict for the death of Travyon Martin, Stevie Wonder reacted to the trial by announcing his protest against Florida during a live performance last Sunday.

The legendary musician promised that he wouldn't perform in Florida or any other state that goes by the "Stand Your Grounds" laws.

"I decided today that until the 'Stand Your Ground' law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again," the singer said in Quebec City, reported the Huffington Post. "As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world. The truth is that -- for those of you who’ve lost in the battle for justice, wherever that fits in any part of the world -- we can’t bring them back. What we can do is we can let our voices be heard. And we can vote in our various countries throughout the world for change and equality for everybody. That’s what I know we can do."

The Florida's "Stand Your Grounds" laws enforce that officials must have evidence that go against a self-defense claim before apprehending the person justifying their actions as self-defense.

For a month Zimmerman wasn't arrested for shooting and killing the 17-year-old and unarmed Travyon Martin.

Supposedly 22 states have this similar law with various guidelines.

Wonder justified his stance by adding "You can't just talk about it, you gotta be about it."
