Free Games For Xbox Live Gold Members: Assassin’s Creed 2 Now Available; Get Great Discounts For Resident Evil 5, Mortal Kombat From XBL Marketplace

As part of Microsoft's offering, Assassin's Creed 2 is now available as one of the free games for Xbox Live Gold Members.

The free offering of the 2009 action game created by Ubisoft started on July 16 and it will run until July 31. Assassin's Creed 2 is usually priced at 1600 MP or $20 but is now free at the Xbox Live Marketplace for gamers with Gold subscription as part of Microsoft's Games with Gold promotion.

Games With Gold promotion was first announced during Microsoft's E3 2013 press conference last month, wherein there will be 2 free games for Xbox Live Gold members every month. The first game will be released on the 1st day of the month while the second game will replace it on the 16th.

This July, Defense Grid: The Awakening was the first free offering made available for members from July 1-15. It was now replaced by Assassin's Creed 2 which will be free from July 16-31.

But aside from making Assassin's Creed 2 as one of the free games for Xbox Live gold members, there are other amazing deals that await the members of Xbox Live.

For instance, Microsoft has slashed down the prices of various digital contents for Assassin's Creed series until the end of the month.

Also, Joystiq reported that the 2011 edition of Mortal Kombat is also offering a 50% discount this week, making its available now for only $10. Some of the price of the games downloadable content is cut to half as well, including the Season Pass as well as the entry from the Xbox Live Arcade, the Mortal Kombat Arcade.

Capcom is also on sale this week on Xbox Live Marketplace. Copies of Asura's Wrath, Resident Evil 5 and Devil May Cry 4 are available now for only $10. Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition are priced at $15.
