iOS 7 Beta 4 Download Delayed Due To Apple’s Developer Site Being Hacked: Members Personal Information Compromised?

Apple's iOS 7 beta 4 download should be available today but because of a security breach, it may no longer be the case. 

According to Sky News, Apple's website for its developer program was hacked last week, July 18. To prevent unauthorized access to member's sensitive information, Apple took down the site temporarily.

Right now, as of this writing, After it was hacked, Apple developer site seems to be running again. However, most of its features are still inaccessible such as the page for the iOS Dev Center.

iOS 7 beta software are downloaded from Apple's developer website. However, because the developer center for Apple's mobile operating system is still down due to the hacked site , reports say that unlike what experts have expected before, the iOS 7 beta 4 download will not be available today, July 22.

Apple statement regarding its hacked developer's site reads, "Last Thursday, an intruder attempted to secure personal information of our registered developers from our developer website. Sensitive personal information was encrypted and cannot be accessed; however, we have not been able to rule out the possibility that some developers' names, mailing addresses, and/or email addresses may have been accessed."

It further explained, "In order to prevent a security threat like this from happening again, we're completely overhauling our developer systems, updating our server software, and rebuilding our entire database."

A lot of experts and developers have thought that the iOS 7 beta 4 download will be available by now. This is because the Cupertino-based tech firm usually follows a two-week release cycle for the test versions of its latest iOS firmware. iOS 7 beta 3 was made available on July 8, and the iOS 7 beta 2 was released June 24.

It was noted by App Advice that this is not a great time for the developer site to be offline. Aside from the iOS 7 beta 4 download, Apple developers are also testing out OS X Mavericks because its final version is set to be launched later this year.

According to rumors, the final iOS 7 firmware is slated for a fall release this year.
