Although fans are still pining after Amy Pond on "Doctor Who," Karen Gillan has moved on to "Guardians of the Galaxy," which required the actress to shave her hair.

For the Marvel film, the 25-year-old will portray Nebula, an alien supervillain and merciless space pirate.

During the 2013 Comic-Con panel, it was pointed out that Nebula is bald, to which responded with, "Yeah, she is. And I might have done something a little bit crazy."

The "Doctor Who" star promptly revealed her wig by taking it off and throwing it into the audience.

"You do NOT want to give you wig to people at Comic-Con," added moderator Chris Hardwick.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" has just started filming, and the cast includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, and Benicio del Toro.

"It's liberating! I think everyone here should shave their heads!" says the excited Gillan after the reveal.
