The Legend Of Korra Season 2 Romance: The Voice Actors Behind The Avatar And Mako, And Their Obstacles In Book 2

As "The Legend of Korra" readies to debut season 2 (or Book 2: Spirits) this September, where will the awkward romance between Korra and Mako go?

During the recent San Diego Comic-Con, the Book 2 premiere episode, "Rebel Spirit," was screened for the audience, and IGN had some interesting tidbits to say about the couple's future.

"As for the controversial Mako/Korra romance, it's still a bit awkward, but the creators have clearly taken steps to make it less stagnant by pitting Mako against the emotional hurdles of dating the Avatar, while also infusing some humor into the couple's relationship," writes IGN contributor Max Nicholson.

In the preview clips, Korra has obtained control over her Avatar powers and continues to train with Tenzin and his family. Meanwhile, Mako is working as a cop, who hopes to make detective someday.

How will their new roles influence their relationship this season?

"It's such a beautiful show," says Janet Varney, the voice actor who brings Korra to life.

"She cries a lot," teases David Faustino, the voice of Mako.

And it's this budding friendship between Varney and Faustino that fuels the Korra and Mako's journey in season 2.

During Comic-Con, Janet Varney, David Faustino, as well as P.J. Byrne (voice of Bolin) joined the festivities to support "The Legend of Korra."

According to "Korra" co-creator Bryan Konietzko, the cast of voice actors are already recording for Book 4!

Still, fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Korra and Mako in "The Legend of Korra" Book 2: Spirits.
