Jennifer Aniston's short hair makes her look almost unrecognizable.

Short hair on Jennifer Aniston transformed her into a different character altogether...which makes sense, since she was wearing a wig to play a character.

Without her signature haircut, Jennifer Aniston didn't look quite like herself when she was photographed wearing a wig on the set of Squirrels to the Nuts in NYC on Friday, July 19.

The "Friends" star was photographed both before and after changing into her wig, and the difference with short hair is striking.

Aniston, Justin Theroux's fiancée,  said she's interested in changing her hair anytime soon for good, though. I'm a creature of habit,". "I like a good, straight blowout. . . I love my hair most when we let it go raw and natural."

Jennifer will play a role in the new Peter Bogdanovich-directed comedy that's carried by her acting...but the wig stole the show.

Still, she reveals that the famous Jennifer haircut takes work to maintain.

"I have naturally wavy, frizzy Greek hair, and over the years it's taken a beating from blow-dryers, flatirons, curlers, and extensions, which I think are the most damaging," she said in a recent interview.

And, she revealed, she even had to use clip-ons."I couldn't get it to grow because it just kept breaking. Even when it was longer, it didn't look long because the ends were so thin. I ended up using clip-in pieces just to fill it out."
