Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev were both mutually super-awkward at ComicCon in San Diego. The two broke up in May...and there is no shortage of weirdness between the two, even still.

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev have been tense around each other ever since the breakup.

The Vampire Diaries costars joked about setting a fan up during a panel. Dobrev, 24, and Somerhalder, 34, joined costars Kat Graham, 23, Paul Wesley, 30, and Candice Accola, 26, for a panel and Q&A with Vampire Diaries fans.

Then, halfway through, Ian offered a fan Nina's number. She asked, jokingly, "Is there anyone Elena hasn't made out with?"

Then an audience member shouted "Me!"...and Ian came back with, "Give me your number. I'll set you up."

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev also tried to avoid each other in the press room and attend events separately. A source said, Ian showed up and Nina showed up shortly after. She saw Ian was right in front of her and went away, then came back a little later so they were spaced out a bit more during press-line interviews."

Aaaand that's why dating coworkers can be bad news. The two may have been tired-after all, they worked late on set in Atlanta before flying to San Diego for Comic-Con.

The official statement said that they would "continue to work together and remain best friends" after the breakup...and they do seem like they're on good terms. Still, there was some palpable awkwardness present.

Both Dobrev and Somerhalder have remained single since their breakup-prehaps they still have feeligns for each other?

They will have to fake it on set, anyway. Somerhalder dropped teasers about future episodes, saying, "the interaction between Damon and Elena is really cute".

And he was surprised when their characters became a couple, saying that when he read the script , "I thought they were joking. Damon never gets the girl."

Would that be a cruel joke or a nice one?
