Gabby Douglas Loses ESPY Award To Serena Williams, But Will 'Definitely' Be At 2016 Rio Olympics

Gabby Douglas may have lost the coveted "Best Female Athlete" ESPY award, but she is still gunning for the next Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in high spirit.

"I love my fans and I love their support, so it would mean the world if they could vote for me. And I love inspiring kids and young adults, so I would be so honored to have their vote," says 17-year-old Douglas during an interview with HLN prior to the ESPY Awards.

Unfortunately, the "Flying Squirrel" lost the "Best Female Athlete" title to Serena Williams, although she showed her support in good spirit.

And despite the glamor of award shows and red carpets, Douglas' main focus is training for the next Olympics.

"Taking some time off definitely helped me, and my body is now recovered," says 17-year-old Douglas during a recent interview with ESPN.

"Going into the Olympic Games, I was considered the underdog. And now, if I make the 2016 Olympic team, I'm going to be considered...you know, high expectations, 'Is she gonna do it again?'"

But when asked if training each week means fans will see her at the 2016 Olympics, she promptly answered, "Definitely!"

Meanwhile, Gabby Douglas will see her 2012 Fab Five cohorts McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross compete in the 2013 Secret Classic on July 27.
