Install Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update On Samsung Galaxy S3: Official Firmware Arriving On Holidays?

Owners of Samsung Galaxy S3 may not be able to receive Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update until the holidays.

According to International Business Times, the release of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean may be delayed until November or December.

It was reported that the late arrival of official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3 was because of the sales of Samsung Galaxy S4. However, SamMobile posted a tweet stating that the TouchWiz user interface is the reason of the delay.

But just last week, a leaked Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 popped out revealing apps seen on the Samsung Galaxy S4, changes in the lock screen and new transition and effects.

But aside from news pointing out to the delayed release of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3, there were also rumors suggesting that the Galaxy S3, together with Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will skip the 4.2.2 update because it will go straight to the upcoming Google OS major update, the Android 4.3.

For instance, the Australian network carrier, Telstra, has already confirmed that the Note 2 they are providing will not receive Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update anymore. This led many experts to believe that Samsung Galaxy S3 will also have the same fate.

Samsung Galaxy S3 is currently running with Android 4.1 version of the Jelly Bean OS and even if the release of the Android 4.2.2 is still tentative, adventurous users can choose to install the leaked update through the custom ROM.

Reportedly, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean will offer other interesting perks such as better camera app software, longer battery life and improved user interface.
