‘Iron Man 4’ Cast Rumors - Robert Downey Jr Has Seven Films In Development; Ain't Got Time For Another Iron Man Sequel - Will 100 Million Change His Mind?

The sequel to "Iron Man 3" has yet to exist, even as a concept, except in the minds of millions of fans who have made it the fifth highest grossing movie of all time. Robert Downey Jr has 7 other impressive projects, but can any of them top the $ 1 billion bench mark? Should Marvel offer $100 million to sway RDJ?

The 7 upcoming projects for Robert Downey Jr are:

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" - this is in the list.

"The Days Before" - teaser from Geekshizzle.com: Timur Bekhmambetov will direct the sci-fi action film The Days Before starring Robert Downey Jr. and Reese Witherspoon. Aliens are destroying our planet by going back in time. They travel back each day to destroy each yesterday. One man beats them to a yesterday to warn people of impending disaster. Chad St. John wrote the script.

"How To Talk To Girls" - RDJ will produce and star in a film based on the book by Alec Greven. Who? Alec Greven is a nine year old boy and this 'instructional' is his first book. When you have billion dollar blockbusters, the studios tend to listen to you.

"Perry Mason" - adapting the defense lawyer created by Erle Stanley Gardner. The setting would be 1930s Los Angeles. As of now, that's all the current information. They're just following the new cardinal rule of Hollywood: If it has to be sexy, not smart, cast Channing Tatum. If it has to smart, and eventually sexy, cast Robert Downey.

"Pinocchio" - a live action comedy which has RDJ and Ben Stiller directing. Will it be a modern day fable or a direct adaptation? Will RDJ be Pinocchio? Too early to tell.

"The Judge" - a film past the development stage and already on pre-production.

Warner Bros. released the official teaser line: "A successful lawyer(Downey) returns to his hometown for his mother's funeral only to discover that his estranged father, the town's judge, is suspected of murder."

Another twist is that the father actually has Alzheimers. Robert Duvall plays the father/judge. Billy Bob Thornton and Leighton Meester also stars. Release Date is October 10, 2014.

"Sherlock Holmes 3" - all we know is that he is signed for a third movie and Jude Law is also signed for Watson.

Should Marvel offer an unprecedented $100 million to Downey? Marvel has been notorious for its hardball stance when it comes to its castmembers. Despite their incredibly successful take, they don't just hand over the raise.

However, here's an excerpt from an interview with Joss Whedon, Avengers director, on RDJ. From The Daily Beast: "He is Iron Man. He is Iron Man in the way that Sean Connery was James Bond. I have no intention of making Avengers 2 without him, nor do I think I'll be called upon to do that. I don't think it's in my interest, Marvel's interest, or his interest, and I think everything will be fine."

"But I know that this is Hollywood and you roll with things. You have to be ready for the unexpected. But I loved working with Robert, and everybody knows he embodied that role in a way no one else can. The day he was cast, I went up to [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige and said, 'You brilliant son of a bitch.'"

That's tricky. "Avengers: Age of Ultron" with Robert Downey Jr. will be released on May 1, 2015.
