'Tom Clancy's The Division' Release Date Set For Q3 2014; Footage For Game's Snowdrop Engine Revealed During GDC 2014

"Tom Clancy's The Division" release date is expected to happen this year.

The PC and the next-generation console version of the upcoming Ubisoft game is scheduled for launch later this year. According to a post on International Business Times, "Tom Clancy's The Division" release date is set at some point during the third quarter of 2014.

Even though there is no announcement yet regarding the exact "Tom Clancy's The Division" release date, more information about the game's engine called Snowdrop has been revealed.

During the recently-held Game Developer's Conference 2014, a trailer for Snowdrop was shown. Snowdrop Engine was created by Massive Entertainment, which is a Ubisoft Studio. According to Massive, "Snowdrop is a dynamic, interconnected and united system. The artists, the designer and the animators have the power to achieve their ideas and vision, simply by accessing the game directly within the engine."

Massive Entertainment further shared:

"Each thing the creators develop needs to be instant and in-game, so that they know exactly if it will work, with no baking time. That means lightning-quick iterations. The result is the ability to develop game features faster than ever. We built Snowdrop in a way so that the game is always playable during development."

Tom Clancy's The Division is a third-person shooting game with role-playing elements, according to www.n3rdabl3.co.uk. Moreover, citing the game's official site, the description for Tom Clancy's The Division reads:

"A devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City, and one by one, basic services fail. In only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The Division, a classified unit of self-supported tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, The Division agents are trained to operate independently of command, as all else fails.

Tom Clancy's The Division was announced during last year's E3 event, according to GameGuru. The game is expected to be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.
