HTC Market Share Will Notch 8-10 Percent 'In The Long Run' With The Help Of HTC One (M8), Midrange And Wearable Devices, Says Company CEO

HTC market share: For the last three years, the Taiwanese manufacturer has struggled to catch up to Samsung's juggernaut marketing campaigns and programs. While HTC continues to deliver premium, high-end devices, it just does not stand a chance against the Korean tech giant when it comes to promotion.

Though, for the past few years, we think this is the closest that HTC has come to Samsung in terms of flagship reception.

As for HTC CEO Peter Chou, he is certainly expecting better things to come out of the company's current flagship, as well as the current midrangers they have in the market today.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Chou says that he expects his company to nab 8-10 percent of the entire smartphone market 'in the long run'.

Aside from the HTC One (M8), the Taiwanese company is also banking on its recent midrange releases with affordable pricetags, hoping that the mass market would take the offer of a cheaper handset with a premium build.

In the report, Chou also confirmed that HTC will be releasing wearables in the future as well, though we can't imagine having a super crowded market in that niche when that time comes.

Previous reports also point to a partnership with Google to work on a new Nexus 8.9 device, though we haven't confirmed that yet.

Let us see in the coming months if Chou's expectations would be met.
