LG G3 Release Date: Upcoming Flagship Dubbed LG B2 To Launch In June, Rumored Specs Include 5.5" QHD Display, Octa-Core CPU, 16MP Shooter With OIS, Iris And Fingerprint Scanner

LG G3 release date: The LG G2 has been one of the top Android phones in the market since it was launched at the IFA event in Berlin last year. Together with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the G2 became an instant hit, especially with its sleek design and high-end specs.

However, for the past months we have been hearing a lot about the G2's successor, the G3. And while the upcoming smartphone is reportedly dubbed as B2 today, it would eventually become the G3 when it launches in June.

According to a report by Digital Trends, the G3 will be the base model for the Nexus 6 smartphone, just like the Nexus 5 was based from the G2 last year. The upcoming LG flagship would also be available in a number of carrier and region-specific versions.

But can the LG G3 take on high-end devices which have been released this year?

As far as screen resolution is concerned, the upcoming LG G3 has got you covered. Previous reports claim that the Android-powered handset would pack a 5.5-inch screen with a QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, among the highest in the mobile industry today.

Of course there is the Oppo Find 7 and Vivo's XPlay 3s which boast the same resolution and slightly the same screen size.

As far as internals are concerned, it is still not clear whether the LG G3 would get the octa-core chipset Odin, or a quad-core CPU powered by a Snapdragon 805 chipset. Either way, we certainly see that LG will not take any chances in releasing a no-compromise device.

Other rumored specs of the LG G3 include 2 or 3GB of RAM, a 16MP shooter with OIS, fingerprint and iris-scanning tech, and Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box.
