Buy Google Glass Online: New AR Lens That Is Expected To Sell This Year Being Hated By Designer Marc Newson – ‘It Looks Pretty Stupid’

Buy Google Glass Online: Google is out to release within the year their much anticipated product, the Google Glass. This wearable technology, also known as wearable computer and augmented reality glasses, is equipped with an optical head-mounted display that could control gadgets, take pictures, give you useful information on almost anything just by looking at something and just by clicking or touching the glass.

Renowned designer Marc Newson, although thinks very badly of the new glasses and have some harsh words for the new gadget.

"What Google have done thus far, I wouldn't be seen dead wearing. It looks pretty stupid," he said in an interview with Deezen. "It's a little bit like that wonderful invention called the Segway. It's such a fantastic piece of technology but you just look like a complete dick when you drive around on it ... That's where the bridge to the world of fashion really doesn't, or didn't, work. That's precisely the moment when I think the fashion world laughs at the world of industrial design, justifiably."

Google X, the same technology that worked and produced driverless cars, made these glasses.

The tech giant launched the campaign last year and only allowed selected people to take part and experience the glasses by signing up to their Glass Explorer Program.

A hefty price of $1,500 plus tax is marked by Google for their Glass Explorer Program.

However, non-Glass Explorer Program members have a chance to take part and experience the gadget as these gadgets are also available in other stores such as Amazon and EBay.

In Amazon, the glasses were priced as high as $2,648. Click here to see the Glass on sale on Amazon.

In EBay, bidding for the glasses is up and the price is now on $1,277.77 with seven bidders. Another seller has 10 more available glasses for a Buy It Now price of $1.989. Click here to see the glasses sold at EBay.

As per Google's description on the new design, the glasses will look quite different. It is reported to be a bit bulkier and will come with an optional earpiece. It looks as though the earpiece connects via a 3.5mm headphone jack to allow removal.

Google didn't ponder much on the specs of the glasses but released a statement saying:

"We want to say "thank you" for all the amazing feedback we've been getting, so later this year, all Explorers will have a one-time option to swap out their existing Glass for a new one. This hardware update will allow your Glass to work with future lines of shades and prescription frames, and we'll also include a mono earbud. Analysts speculate that Google Glass will hit the markets sometime this year. It's expected to cost around $600 once it's released, similar to the price point of a high-end smartphone.
