Upcoming Blackberry Phones 2014: Company Will Launch Its First Foxconn-Made Smartphone In Indonesia, Blackberry Z3 Appears In Live Images In Malaysia

Upcoming Blackberry phones 2014: Almost a year ago, Blackberry seemed to be in a dead end. There were already talks of sale for its various departments and technologies. Most people thought it would be the end for the Canada-based manufacturer, but most of them, like me, are wrong.

After a very forgetful 2013 where it lost more than $1 billion for the disappointing sales of its Z10 handset, Blackberry will launch its first device this year.

According to a report by GSM Arena, a Blackberry handset has recently appeared in live images, shot alongside the flagship Blackberry Z30.

Dubbed as the Z3, the BB OS powered smartphone is said to pack midrange specs, as shown by its qHD (960 x 540) resolution display. In comparison, the flagship Blackberry Z30 has a higher HD (1280 x 720) display.

In the report, the handset is a midranger and aims to target emerging and developing mobile markets, the first Blackberry device running on BB 10 to do so.

The Blackberry Z3 is produced by Foxconn, where Blackberry has a deal to equally split profits for its new smartphones. While we still do not know other smartphones from Foxconn aside from this one, at least Blackberry is doing something to regain its horrible losses last year.

The Waterloo-based phone manufacturer is also said to bring back more smartphones in the future which have the company's trademark QWERTY keypad. It may be a desperate move, but once its loyal keypad lovers embrace these smartphones, at least the company would get a market to work with.

We, and the entire mobile manufacturing industry are expecting interesting developments within Blackberry's backyard, especally with the help of its optimistic CEO John Chen.

Back to the Z3, reports say that it will launch in Indonesia by the end of the month so stay tuned. We'll bring you fresh details regarding the new Blackberry phone.
