Tracy Morgan Shows: Tracy Morgan Stars in Comedy Central Stand-Up Special, Gets New FXX Show and IS ON TOUR NOW (TOUR DATES)

Tracy Morgan, best known as Tracy Jordan on the NBC sitcom "30 Rock," is getting busy. For about a year or two, Tracy Morgan was the funniest person in America. Well, to me anyway, replacing reigning king Dave Chappelle at the time. It's tough competition, and Tracy's HBO special from last year didn't quite put him back in the top spot. But that was last year.

This year, Tracy Morgan is going to be all up and in your grill. It was announced earlier this week that Morgan is going to be on a new FXX series and now we got word that Tracy Morgan is set to star a brand new stand-up special for Comedy Central.

"Tracy Morgan: Bona Fide" was shot at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Harvey Theater.

In the special Morgan talks about family reunions and an awkward meeting with Prince.

"Tracy Morgan: Bona Fide" premieres for Sunday, April 20 at 10pm ET and will come out on DVD on April 22. Starting on April 12, you can see it at Comedy Central's on-demand service CC: Stand-Up Direct.

Tracy Morgan is bringing his standup chops back to primetime in a new show for FXX.

In a huge three-year deal, Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton and their RCG Productions signed up with FX Productions for two more 10-episode seasons of the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and a new half-hour comedy show starring Tracy Morgan.

According to Nick Grand, the  president of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions, "Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton are three of the most talented comedy writers and producers in our business, not to mention very gifted actors. This deal is a testament to their skill, intelligence and work ethic, which combined to earn them one of the best overall deals in TV. Not bad for three guys who shot a pilot ten years ago for $200 and a few pizzas."

The new Tracy Morgan show will be produced by RCG and Rakhe, who will also be showrunners. The new Tracy Morgan project got a 10-episode commitment from FXX. Tracy Morgan's new show is scheduled premiere on of January 2015.

The project came out of an FX pilot order from Rob Long and Tad Safran called "Death Pact." Tracy Morgan was playing "a formerly lazy, pot-dealing assistant high school coach who returns to his hometown as a decorated war hero."

Morgan starred on NBC's "30 Rock," winning Emmy and Golden Globe Awards with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin until January 2013.
