Semyon Varlamov made 30 saves against the Penguins, who were without their three leading scorers in Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Chris Kunitz, but the team still lost, though got a point out of it.

"It was a very important point," coach Patrick Roy, whose team won 4-0 at St. Louis the day before, told the NHL's official website. "It might surprise you, but I'm happy with our game. We played seven games in 12 days, our guys played a very emotional game yesterday and when we saw Crosby being out of the lineup, Kunitz not in the lineup and on and on, I think it was just a normal reaction that maybe we have an easier game. We're thinking of doing the same at the end depending where we are in the standings."

Oilers left-winger Taylor Hall was named the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday after scoring two goals and seven assists in four games. Hall's line with center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and right wing Jordan Eberle has combined for 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) in the past four games.

"We've played together quite a bit," Eberle told the Oilers website. "I think when we get together, we've done it enough that we know where each other will be. We get excited to play with each other and we really want to be the offensive threat out there. The last little bit here has gone good. I've played with them where we've had stretches where it hasn't gone good too. We just have to find that way to contribute every night and be that top line that we know we can be."
