Battlestar Galactica Movie Reboot Confirmed With 'Prometheus 2' Screenwriter: Will Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Tricia Helfer, Grace Park, And Others Return?

Although it is not a continuation of the 2004 epic, "Battlestar Galactica" will see new life as a movie.

According to Variety, the "Battlestar Galactica" movie will be a "complete reimagining" of the story, and will have Jack Paglen penning the screenplay and original creator Glen Larson producing.

As such, although the 2004 miniseries is by far the most popular and critically acclaimed, it is uncertain any of the cast members will return for the "Battlestar Galactica" movie.

Currently, Mary McDonnell is starring as the lead for "Major Crimes" on TNT. In addition, Katee Sackhoff is starring in "Longmire" and will be seen in the horror movie "Oculus" very soon.

Tricia Helfer is starring in brand new series "Killer Women." Grace Park is also busy with "Hawaii Five-0." Sadly, this most likely means none of our beautiful cylons will grace the big screen.

According to E! Online, screenwriter Jack Paglen will also write the screenplay for "Prometheus 2."

While "X-Men: Days of Future Past" director Bryan Singer was attached to the "Battlestar Galactica" movie back in 2009, it is unclear whether the director will be involved now.
