OnePlus One Phone Is A Spec-Beast, Upcoming CyanogenMod Smartphone Specs Include 5.5" 1080p Display, Snapdragon 801 Chip, 3GB Of RAM, 13MP Shooter

OnePlus One: For the past month, we have been hearing a lot about OnePlus, a startup company composed of former Oppo employees, as well CyanogenMod experts. What's interesting about them or the company? They are already working on a flagship device that will trump all other flagship device from other manufacturers today.

In a new report by GSM Arena, the OnePlus One handset is said to get a Snapdragon 801 chipset, paired with 3GB of RAM. If that combination sounds familiar, well that's because it really is.

Currently, there are only two other phones with the same chipset combination, the Sony Xperia Z2 and Oppo Find 7.

Yes, that means the OnePlus One beats both the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the freshly announced HTC One (M8) by a mile when it comes to multi-tasking (at least that's what it should be in theory). Still, we cannot discount the numerous features and functions which both devices offer.

The question now is whether the OnePlus One also offers its own unique features which could be marketing points for its campaign.

Aside from the Snapdragon 801 and 3GB RAM, the OnePlus One also runs on four Krait 400 cores running at 2.5GHz, a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution at the back, a Sony-made 13MP primary camera, a 3,100mAh battery at the back and CyanogenMod's take on Android 4.4 Kitkat.

Previous reports also point to swappable back covers which feature unique materials such as bamboo, silk, kevlar, etc.

We already can't wait for the OnePlus One's unveiling on April 23, and we will make sure to keep you posted.

Will the OnePlus One smartphone be able to live up to the hype it has been getting right now? Or would it just be another failed attempt to bridge the gap between a non-compromise handset and affordable pricing? We will find that out in a matter of weeks.
