Lauren Silverman Simon Cowell Scandal: Simon Cowell, the former X Factor host might regret how the Lauren Silverman affair started, but Simon Cowell likes the role of baby daddy.

Simon Cowell says he regrets how his affair with Lauren Silverman started, but good things have come out of it.

Lauren Silverman's baby daddy Simon Cowell is opening up about the affair that broke up Lauren and Andrew Silverman's marriage. The affair resulted in the birth of Lauren Silverman and Simon Cowell's son Eric.

Simon Cowell told the Daily Mirror that while he's not proud that his relationship with Lauren Silverman started as an affair with one of his best friends' wives, but he says being a father made a good change in his life.

Cowell told The Mirror "It is not something I am proud of or wanted to happen in terms of hurting anyone. It just happened. You have to deal with it and man up to it. You have to accept the responsibility and the criticism. All I can say is, my advice to you is if it happens to you, you just have to deal with it a day at a time and own up to your responsibilities."

And the responsibilities outweigh the scandal. Cowell continued "But then of course you have a baby and you look at the baby and you kinda go, 'This is what happened from it.' In this situation you are not going to come out of this well because of the circumstances."

The former "American Idol" judge recently let it out that he was diagnosed with depression last year. Cowell told the British newspaper "Did a doctor say I was depressed? Yeah. I mean I knew it myself. You are always looking for the next high from the show and then actually if you haven't got anyone to share it with per se, or if you haven't got a family around you, you can go a bit nuts."
