Blackberry Z3 Launches In Indonesia, Specs Include 5" qHD Display, Dual-Core CPU, 1.5GB RAM, 5MP Shooter, Costs Only About $190

Blackberry Z3: Blackberry finally did it! It has successfully launched a new smartphone when no one believed it could. And for the meantime, the BB10-powered handset is available for pre-order only in Indonesia.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Blackberry Z3 is now available for pre-order in Indonesia at only IDR 2,199,000. If you think that's a whole lot of cash, then you will feel relieved that it only amounts to about €137 or about $190.

The phone is primarily aimed at the Indonesian market, and it is the first time that Blackberry launches a device in the Asian country. And there is a limited number of Blackberry Z3 handsets which would get 'Jakarta' engraved on the phone's back panel.

So what's the deal about this new Blackberry handset? Well, previous reports say that this is the first Foxconn-made smartphone by the company and it certainly looks forward to getting a warm reception from Blackberry fans.

For QWERTY keypad purists, you may not like that the Blackberry Z3 does not have a hardware keypad. However, it more than makes up for it with decent specs considering the very affordable price tag.

In the report, the Blackberry Z3 packs a 5-inch display with qHD (960 x 540) resolution, a dual-core CPU running at 1.2GHz, a Snapdragon 200 chipset, 1.5GB of RAM for better multi-tasking management, and an 8GB internal memory.

Also on board is a decent 5 megapixel camera at the back and a 1.1MP front facing shooter, and a microSD card slot. The smartphone will run the company's Blackberry OS 10.2.1 software and 2,500mAh of battery juice.

While we do not have exact details regarding release date details, we expect the Blackberry Z3 to officially be available in Indonesian retailers and stores by May. We also hope the device would be available for the international market soon enough.
