Samsung Galaxy K Zoom Announced Today, Specs Include 20.7MP Shooter With 10x Optical Zoom, 4.8" Display, Hexa-Core CPU, 2GB RAM

Samsung Galaxy K Zoom: After a few weeks of teasing and leaks, the camera-eccentric Samsung smartphone has finally launched. And from the looks of it, it definitely aims to dethrone the current heavyweights in that particular area, including digital cameras and lower-end DSLRs.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the device has been announced by the Korean manufacturer in a press release, and would hit stores in several markets next month.

While there are no pricing details yet, we assume this will be priced similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom last year. So, what does the Galaxy K Zoom have to offer?

In the report and announcement, the device will be getting a 20.7MP camera with xenon flash, the first in the manufacturer's history for a smartphone. Apart from that, there will also be optical image stabilization for better quality stills and clips. In front is a decent 2MP front facing camera.

Also on board is a 10x optical zoom which is perfect for on-the-go photographers and even the usual photography enthusiast. In case you love selfies, there is also the Selfie Alarm that will help you take better shots in a variety of situations.

However, the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom is not just a camera-centric device, but first and foremost a smartphone. It packs a 4.8-inch display with 720p resolution, a hexa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

The usual connectivity features are also present including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, and LTE.

There is also an option for microSD storage expansion, a 2,430mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.

In the report, the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom will be available in three color options, blue, black and white.
