Upcoming Android Tablets 2014: Acer Announces 2 Budget Iconia 7" Slates, Pricing Begins At Only $129

Upcoming Android tablets 2014: Acer has been a world class PC maker over the years. However, it has recently experienced a slump in both PC shipments and sales. And because the mobile market is still at its peak, it is only practical to ride its wave.

However, in a very competitive Android market, Acer should do whatever it takes to set its devices apart from the majority with its own set of features and functions.

So we will see if it does well with these two new additions to its tablet lineup.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the company has just announced two new budget Android slates which would hopefully do well in a rather saturated Android tablet market.

Dubbed as the Iconia Tab 7 and Iconia One 7, both slates have decent specs which can accomplish most daily tasks.

The Acer Iconia Tab 7 is the slightly higher-end model of the two, and comes with two variants based on the market. The first, dubbed A1-713 packs a 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution, a 2MP camera, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, with an upcoming upgrade to KitKat.

On the other hand, the other model A1-713HD packs the same display size, but with a higher resolution (1280 x 800). It also packs a 5MP camera at the back and Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box.

Both Iconia Tab 7 slates run on quad-core CPUs, a front-facing camera, and a microSD card slot. The A1-713HD will be available in Europe, Asia and the Middle East and would cost 149 euros. Meanwhile, the other model will hit Latin America for about 109 euros.

The Acer Iconia One 7 will pack a 7-inch display, an Intel Atom 1.6Ghz dual-core chipset, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi connectivity and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean upgradeable to Kitkat later this year. It will cost around $129.99.
