Upcoming ZTE Phones 2014: Chinese Manufacturer Unveils Budget Midranger, Star 1 Specs Include 5" 1080p Display, Snapdragon 400, Quad-Core CPU, 2GB RAM

Upcoming ZTE phones 2014: ZTE is well known for its contributions to the Chinese market as among the first manufacturers to mass produce Android devices. And now that all of its Chinese siblings have been doing well in the smartphone and tablet categories, it is time to make an impact as well.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Chinese company has recently launched its LTE-powered midrange smartphone.

Dubbed as ZTE Star 1, the smartphone is among the most gorgeous handsets we have seen recently, thanks to its metal build and back cover made of glass.

But if you think the ZTE Star 1 is all looks, you are terribly mistaken.

Aside from sporting a sleek design, the Android powered smartphone also boasts a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.6GHz, a Snapdragon 400 chipset, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 305 for good performance in graphics processing.

The phone has the usual connectivity options such as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and 4G LTE support.

Indeed these specs are neither mind blowing nor revolutionary, but these features will certainly do if you are only required to pay CNY1399 or about $225.

In addition, the ZTE Star 1 also packs 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, an 8MP primary camera at the back and a 5MP front facing shooter.

Also on board is a decent 2,300mAh battery which can help the phone last a few more hours than the usual. Interestingly, ZTE was able to place the latest Android version in their device, making it more relevant than similarly-priced competitors which only run on Jelly Bean.

The device is already available in China, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that it would also hit the international market.
