Upcoming Motorola Phones 2014: Motorola Gearing For May 13 Launch, Featured Devices Include Moto X+1 Flagship, Budget Moto E And Moto 360 Smartwatch

Upcoming Motorola phones 2014: Motorola has been silent in the midrange and flagship category since it launched the Moto G late last year. But it looks like it would unleash a duo of new Android powered handsets later this month.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the once Google owned company has recently sent out invites to a press event on May 13 in London.

Surely, it would be a launch of something - though we are not yet sure which or how many.

But considering previous rumors and reports, the most probable part of the event would be the launch of its newest flagship, the Moto X+1.

Sony, Samsung and HTC have all made their moves in releasing their flagship smartphones, and while LG is a step late of its competitors, it made up for it by keeping the hype up for its upcoming high-end phone, the G3.

And now, it is only worth high time for Motorola to make its move before it is completely kept in the game by these huge Android OEMs.

As far as rumors go, we do not know anything about the Moto X+1 yet aside from the fact that it will be the Moto X successor. However, we expect it to have at least a Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen, 2GB of RAM, quad-core CPU and a Snapdragon chipset (800 or 801).

Meanwhile, another awaited handset is the Moto E, which would be similarly-spec'd to the Moto G. However, in recent reports, it looks like Motorola to make the Moto E even cheaper than the already affordable Moto G. Some rumored specs include a 4.3-inch display, dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP shooter and Android 4.4 Kit Kat.

Finally, another device that could show up in the event is the Moto 360 smartwatch.
