As "The Good Wife" season 5 heads toward the finale, spoilers regarding the episode have surfaced.

According to spoilers by TVLine, "The Good Wife" season finale will end on a cliffhanger of sorts.

“It’s not a cliffhanger in that, ‘Oh, which way is Alicia going to choose?" says executive producer Robert King. “It’s more a cliffhanger in that, ‘Oh, NOW what does that mean? That’s an interesting decision.’ It’s a cliffhanger of a new chapter opening in Alicia’s life.”

However, it seems unlikely "The Good Wife" season 5 finale will deal directly with the ongoing election-rigging storyline.

As fans know, that storyline came to a halt when Will Gardner (played by Josh Charles) was shot, vaporing his testimony against the governor.

“Never say never, but at least for this season, Will’s [death] got Peter off the hook, which is playing into some of Alicia’s angst about Peter. But that doesn’t mean [it won’t] come back, because things tend to — especially for the Governor of Illinois.”

It seems like "The Good Wife" season 6 will continue to tread troubled waters for Alicia and her "husband."

In addition, critics and fans are raving about the newly introduced male lead Finn Polmar, portrayed by Matthew Goode.

"Alicia really needed someone like Finn in her life — someone who is honest, caring, and supportive. Someone she can relate to," writes Bustle contributor Alex Kritselis.

After the Josh Charles exit, Goode was introduced as the Assistant State's Attorney to give the show a new dash of masculine energy. But it could lead to a new romance for Alicia.

“We’re not going there [yet],” says Robert. "A lot of what we do is watch the dailies and see what comes out. There is a lot of fun chemistry between Julianna [Margulies] and Matthew [Goode], but we can’t [address the potential for romance] until we react a little bit more to what’s being shot.”
