They came back to New York for a game 7 and won in order to advance on one day of rest to go to Pittsburgh and battle the Metropolitan Division winning Penguins. Friday will mark a stretch of hockey that the Rangers would play five times in seven nights, yet it doesn't seem to faze the Rangers.

"Now we're in the middle of it and we're in the battle," New York forward Brad Richards told ESPN.com. "This is when it gets real fun."

Goalie Henrik Lundqvist responded from a lackluster Game 6 with a 26-save performance in Game 7. Against the Penguins in his career he has a 2.46 goals-against average and .913 save percentage in 51 career appearances.

"He's the backbone of our team for a reason," defenseman Ryan McDonagh told NHL.com. "He made some huge saves down the stretch. We know what he means to this team, and he knows what he means. When he's on his game he's tough to beat. When they had some time in our zone he was the backbone back there. He relaxed everybody with some big saves."

Forward Evgeni Malkin has been paired up with forward Sidney Crosby throughout much of the last two games. Despite Crosby finding the back of the net in the Pens first round series against the Blue Jackets, Malkin broke out with a hat trick in game 6.

"I feel great," Malkin told NHL.com. "Had a couple practices, ready to go into the next round. I'm healthy, it's good. We start at home, that's good for us."
