Xiaomi Mi3S Specs, Release Date: Rumored Android Smartphone Appears In Leaked Photo; 5-inch 1080P Display, 13MP Camera Expected Features

Xiaomi Mi3S specs, release date: The rumored Android handset that will serve as a follow-up to the hugely successful Xiaomi Mi3, is dubbed the Xiaomi Mi3s. The alleged unit has made an appearance at a leaked photo that was shown by Phone Arena citing a Chinese-language website as a source.

Based on the gadget and review site’s reports, it noted that the Xiaomi Mi3S is speculated to run a Snapdragon 801 processor 2.5 GHz, Android 4.4.2 KitKat (running on Xiaomi’s custom configurations), have 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. The handset is expected to have a 5-inch 1080P display and a 13MP camera.

MyDrivers confirmed the Phone Arena report saying that the unit will also have a similar screen with the Mi3, sporting a 5-inch, 1080 panel. This new variant is seemingly part of the plan of Xiaomi, the company hailed as the “Apple of China,” to meet its goal of selling 60 million devices for the year 2014.

Reports suggest that Xiaomi may sell the MI3S for $320 (1,999 CNY). Phone Arena notes though that there’s no word exactly when the handset will be released. But similar with the Xiaomi Mi3, it’s possible that the Xiaomi Mi3S maybe released in China first. The company started selling the handsets in more Asian markets recently, the Mi3S will probably not be a China-exclusive devic and based on its predicted price, will be cheaper than other flagships.

In terms of its recent sales, Xiaomi has sold 11 million Android smartphones in the first quarter of 2014. The company holds record-breaking sales of its Xiaomi Mi3 device when it was sold out 100,000 of its available units in 86 seconds.

Xiaomi devices have received critical acclaim for its design and under the hood specs. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has said before that Xiaomi is ready to sell its devices for the international markets. The tech luminary says that he uses its devices as a smartphone.

The latest variant of the Xiaomi Mi3, the company’s current flagship, recently began selling in Singapore. It’s one of the first moves of the Chinese tech giant to expand the market it sells its devices.

The company is expected to expand to 10 more countries and is also rumored to launched yet another handset dubbed the Xiaomi Mi4.
