Legend Of Korra, Avatar Exhibition Opens As Boston Bombing Fundraiser As Michael DiMartino Praises Studio Mir Animation Before Book 3 Release Date

As "The Legend of Korra" fans await Book 3, co-creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino have some interesting updates for fans through Tumblr.

Currently, Bryan Konietzko is showing an exhibition at Montserrat College of Art specifically catering to artwork from "The Legend of Korra" and "Avatar: The Last Airbender."

"In the wake of the horrific Boston Marathon bombings last year, I posted on this blog that I would be figuring out a way to do a fundraiser for those affected," wrote Konietzko on Tumblr.

"The gallery is conducting a silent auction for each of the 17 prints, which vary in size but average around 19 x 25 inches. If every piece sells, even without surpassing the starting bids (which were set to the costs of the prints), we would raise $3805 for the survivors, their families, and those who lost loved ones in the attacks. And of course I am hoping we can raise much more than that."

"The Legend of Korra" and "Avatar: The Last Airbender" exhibition will be showing until May 17, so please check it out if you are in Massachusetts.

Meanwhile, "The Legend of Korra" co-creator Michael DiMartino has written a very inspiring blog post which talks about living life creatively.

"When we started the Avatar production in 2003, the artists and I all drew with pencil (or pen) and paper... By 2010, nearly everything is done digitally," wrote DiMartino on Tumblr.

"The exception is at Studio Mir, where the animators all draw with pencil and paper, then scan the drawings into the computer to be colored and composited. The show looks better than it ever has, and I still think the style of each artist comes through in the digital medium, but I can't help but feel like something gets lost along the way."

"So I guess the reason I'm writing all this is to reaffirm my commitment to creativity, no matter what the form, and to hopefully inspire others to do the same."
