Walking Dead Season 5 Casting News: Seth Gilliam is joining The Walking Dead. 


Seth Gilliam is the latest alumnus of "The Wire" to join The Walkng Dead.


According to The Hollywood Reporter, Seth Gilliam has been cast in an as-yet undisclosed role in  to the critically acclaimed "The Walking Dead."

Seth Gilliam will be the third actor from The Wire to join The Walking Dead for Season 5.


The former Sgt. Ellis Carver will reunite with Chad L. Coleman, who plays Tyreese, and Larry Gilliard Jr. who plays Bob.


There's no word yet on who Gilliam will play on The Walking Dead, but character is described as having "two sides - one full of friendly, puckish humor, and one haunted by a dark secret." The Hollywood Reporter  theorizes that he could be playing the role of comic character Gabriel Stokes in the series.


Gilliam is expected to continue his recurring role as  Dr. Deaton on Teen Wolf while filming The Walking Dead.


Gilliam also previously starred in Starship Troopers as "Sugar Watkins."  He played Sergeant Steven Altameyer in 1996's Courage Under Fire. He played Aaron Dexter on "The Cosby Show" season 7. Gilliam was featured on "CSI: Miami, "Nurse Jackie," "Skins," the TV series "Person of Interest and "The Good Wife."


The fourth season of "The Walking Dead" brought in strong viewer numbers for AMC.


The Walking Dead season 5 will be back on AMC this fall.
