Samsung Galaxy Tab S Rumors: Specs Of New Android Slate Leak, Packs 2K Display, Octa-Core CPU, 3GB RAM, 8MP Shooter And Fingerprint Sensor

Samsung Galaxy Tab S rumors: Samsung has a lot of Android tablets in the market ranging from the entry level up to the high end models. However, it looks like the Korean company is still doing whatever it takes to saturate the tablet market even more.

According to a recent blog report from GSM Arena, the Korean tech giant has been working on a new lineup of high-end tablets and their specs have surfaced through a leaked report.

Dubbed at the Galaxy Tab S, the tablet will have 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch versions, but both would feature a Super AMOLED display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1600) resolution.

On the processing side, the Galaxy Tab S will reportedly boast an octa-core CPU (four 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores) and 3GB of RAM for silky smooth multi-tasking capabilities. On the other hand, video processing chores would be handled by a hexa-core Mali-T628 GPU.

In the imaging department, the Galaxy Tab S will allegedly get an 8 megapixel camera at the back and a 2.1Mp front-facing shooter. LTE connectivity is optional and an IR blaster is also on board.

One of the more interesting features of the device is the reported fingerprint sensor. This feature would enable Galaxy Tab S users to unlock or run certain apps and folders, or pay through PayPal.

The Android tablet will run on version 4.4.2 Kitkat out of the box, and will come in color options Shimmer White and Titanium Grey.

Earlier this year, Samsung unveiled its massive 12.2-inch slates, the Galaxy Note 12 Pro and Tab Pro, but it looks like the Korean company is moving back to its comfort zone with the 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch Tab S slates.

We'll get you more details for you about these upcoming Android tablets from Samsung.
